Hello! I’m Sam!
Here’s a little bit of my journey to a healthier life. I hope it helps bring us together and let you know that I’m just a normal busy mom trying to do the best by her family. :)
After having my first child, I started really paying attention to what I was feeding my family, then my husband picked up cycling and we dove deeper into that which fuels us. He even got me back on a bike!
Keeping up with his competitiveness, we tried a social media challenge to change our diet for 30 days. We chose pescatarianism thinking, “Heck! That’ll be easy!” After, we couldn’t really get back into eating meat at all and decided to go completely plant-based. We’ve never felt better or been in better shape!
This lead to finding a whole new passion in food and cooking and the science and math of what we need nutritionally.
I’ve spent 22 years in the service industry and while I still thoroughly enjoy and thrive in that industry, I knew I wanted, and needed, to make even more changes.
I decided to become a nutritionist and did so through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. The knowledge I have gained in doing so is amazing and I can’t wait to share it with my community and continue my education. Between helping others eat better and helping an industry I love become better, I honestly don’t think I could have made a better choice for myself or my family.
